PROJECT PRINCE

A Historic Home for A Young Family

This project highlights the full-gut transformation of a 1790s Old Town Alexandria rowhouse, where the primary goal was to preserve historical integrity while reconfiguring layouts that did not function for this young family’s modern daily life. We ensured that amongst the renovation changes, the original beams stayed in tact, pine floors and brick walls were exposed and celebrated, and fireplaces restored to working condition. The redesigned kitchen features a custom L-shaped banquette for conversation and two kitchen peninsulas that serve as a central hub for hosting. Tailored to a lifestyle focused on entertaining, the kitchen includes specialized hidden appliances and storage solutions, balanced by patined brass hardware and contemporary light fixtures. The result is a home that feels like a confident mix of old and new, celebrating history and making room for new memories.
